The Eternal Quest – 3. The Old Sage

3. The Old Sage

Chapter 3: The Old Sage

The village of Eredale was alive with the vibrant colors of early autumn. The trees lining the cobblestone streets were ablaze with hues of red, orange, and gold. The crisp air was filled with the scent of ripe apples and woodsmoke, creating a cozy atmosphere as the villagers went about their daily routines. Amidst this seasonal splendor, Aric and Liora made their way to the edge of the village, their minds focused on their next task: seeking the wisdom of the old sage who lived in the forest.

The old sage, known simply as Eamon, had lived in seclusion for as long as anyone could remember. His home was a modest cottage nestled deep within the forest, surrounded by ancient oaks and whispering pines. The path to his dwelling was narrow and winding, blanketed in a carpet of fallen leaves that crunched underfoot.

Aric glanced at Liora as they walked. She wore her usual determined expression, her raven-black hair tied back in a practical braid. Her blue eyes were sharp, scanning the forest for any signs of danger.
